PYRO Shield Gas Suppression Systems

One of nine products to receive an Engineering Design award from the SABS Design Institute in 2003, environmentally friendly Pyroshield is an effective fire extinguishing system that has revolutionized the fire protection industry.

Pyroshield extinguishing systems are designed to extinguish surface burning fires in Class A, Class B, and Class C hazards by lowering the oxygen content below the level that supports combustion. Containing a mixture of two naturally occurring gases, Nitrogen and Argon, Pyroshield exhibits no ozone depleting potential and it does not contribute to global warming.

Typical hazards protected by the Pyroshield system include computer rooms, sub-floors, tape storage areas, telecommunications/switch-gear, vaults, process equipment and all electronic areas where the equipment is either very sensitive or irreplaceable.

Pyroshield is particularly useful for suppressing fires in hazards where: the hazard area is normally occupied and requires a non-toxic agent; an electrically non-conductive medium is essential or desirable; or the clean up of other agents presents a problem.

Not only does Pyroshield require a small floor area for cylinder storage, but also its high-quality flow characteristics of inert gas agents allow longer pipe runs and smaller diameter pipes than the halocarbon agents.

These characteristics maximize useable floor area and allows cylinders to be grouped in a central storage area.
